Lightbulb Beast Riding (and other Beast Mastery Improvements)

Honestly.. you have beast mastery, but it'd be sweet to be able to hop on your Moa/bear/dune lizard, and ride them like a steed. I mean, you have Dolak Riders and Stone Summit beastmasters. They're mounted on steeds of their choice. Depending on the pet you have, you could gain different bonuses.

Moa = Speed
Bear = Melee attack
Lizard = Armor

(*just saying... I know little about beast mastery)

Plus, the size of your character should also play a bigger role in this. Id Est.... smaller characters could even ride Wolves (but not boars). Togather, you'd get various bonuses, but if one or the other's HP drops to zero, then the team would go down.

EDIT: I started this about beast riding.. but I think Beast Mastery in general needs improvement

Anet has stated on quite a few occasions that there are no plans whatsoever to introduce mounts.

Sorry.

That's bogus. Honestly, enemies have mounts but players can't? Jeez.

Still... with beast mastery, I can see how that'd be a nice skill to add to GW.

I am sure this thread will be close soon.. but before that.. I would just like to add:

While I have no problem with mounts, escpailly for none-transporation purpose, I just don't get why Ride Your Pets? They are really small, and surely a full grown adult riding on top of a Moa Bird would crush the poor thing. And really funny for riding the Dune Lizard....

-and to Pie.... when you close thread.. can you add a tag line of "You got Creamed!"? it would sound funny and nasty......

Bears and larger pets could be ridden.

Again, if you factor size into it as well... some of my characters are super small. In fact, my wife had a runner that was super small. It was funny how people were afraid to take her up on a run, but she could make it mostly anywhere.

Still....
Riding a Lizard... yeah... little off. But if they could get larger, that wouldn't be so bad. Plus, what's up with the Yaks? You think someone could ride one of those like a Grunty in .Hack .(yes, I know .Hack isn't a true MMO...but it's the closest example I could think of for yak riding).

Oh, and don't forget, Nakaruru was 5'2" (or something insanely small) and she rode a wolf in Samurai Spirits 3 & 4. She also had a hawk that could carry her high into the air.

As I think about it more, they should improve beast mastery. I mean, it sucks now. your pet is a living, remote weapon that only puts you at a disadvantage when it dies.
What's the point? Why not combo attacks for you and your pet? Perhaps the ability to have your pet hold down a creature or hang on. It'd remove their ability to fight, but in the real world, people use dogs as a distraction or to detain someone they're after for a short time. This would provide 3-5 seconds and should either degen the pets HP or reduce your energy while they're holding on. Some type of negative.

(sorry... tangent)

Basically...

IMPROVE BEAST MASTERY

I agree with this idea. Beast mastery seems to have very little to offer atm.

Pets right now are still too small to ride on. When was the last time you ride your kitty out to the town?

Now, to avoid this thread close (since there are too many mount related thread out already), suggest people put out more ideas about how to improve Beast mastery, and not focus on riding the pet. (actually.. there were few thread about this issue as well......)

I would input:
-Bigger Pet when evolve (more visual pleasing)
-Inherent Pet skills
-Pet armors

Well as has been stated, this has been brought up before. Many many times in fact. Run a search on "mounts" in the sanitarium alone and you get three pages worth of threads with mounts being mentioned. Also there's even a thread entitled "Mounts." I'd tell you to go find it, but being that the subject of mounts has been addressed by Anet I don't think it'd do much good to go find it (unless you want search button practice ). Anyways, no need for yet another thread on mounts.

-Closed-

(PS: Sorry actionjack, but saying "You got creamed!" when I close a thread would sound like moderator abuse. )
